Why is Obama discussing his plans for Afghanistan and Iraq?

Why is he discussing these plans before he even goes on his fact-finding mission? Doesn't it work better the other way around? Learn the facts before discussing the plans.

  1. he nor McCain really cant make plans at all until one of them president, as they cant see the full scope of the situation at the moment. all they are going to do for now is say what they think their voter base wants to hear. once they are briefed on whats actually going on and can see the big picture, they will most likely have different opinions on whats to be done. weather or not they change their strategy to better fit the situation depends on how badly it would make them look, not if its the best thing to do, which is sad.

  3. The neocons accuse him of only talking about change and not speaking of what exact policies are going to bring about the change, so he's talking about them. Can't have it both ways, bushbots.
