Why is Ohio State getting all the best recruits?

Because they are all interested to know what its like to choke in a national title game. They've been Gator Bait and Tiger Bait, I wonder who they'll choke to this time. They better pray a team from the SEC miraculously doesn't make the BCS title game if they get in it

They are getting some of the best recruits because of recent success in addition to their great history and tradition. Players coming into Ohio State also know they have a great chance of getting to the NFL.

actually Alabama had the best recruiting class in the HISTORY of college football. Divisions 1,2 and 3. You may think that they did because they got one mega-recruit in Terelle Pryor but remember 'Bama got Julio Jones who could be the SEC's best receiver this year or next.

High school players are signing up with OSU in the hopes that they will be on the first Buckeye team to beat a SEC team in a BCS bowl game.

I'm sure several other universities such as USC, Notre Dame, Florida, LSU, and Michigan are getting pretty good recruits.  However there is one pretty good reason:

OSU sends more of their players to the NFL than about any other college football team.  A large portion of their players only last about 2 years at OSU before they are drafted into the NFL.  I know the Colts drafted two OSU players last year.  Gonzalez became a pretty important part of the Colts his very first year when Marvin Harrison got injured.

The Big Ten also has the largest TV viewer audience of any of the college leagues.  And OSU for the last several years has been the perennial powerhouse of the Big Ten.  The Big Ten has such a large audience that they had the audacity to start their own TV network, the Big Ten network and make their fans start paying to watch a number of the games.  They were the first league to do that.  I'm still a little ticked off at the Big Ten for doing that.

They are the biggest school in the Nation, and they always compete for a BCS game.

Plus I think every team in the NFL has a buckeye on it.

They get great recruits but I wouldnt say they got the best recruiting class. Two years ago they had a top 25 recruiting class, but it wasnt nothing special to place them in the top 10 or anything like that. This past season they had a top 3 class, and are looking good thus far for 2009.

I am an Ohio State fan and I thought we got our fair share of recruits this year. I always watch other teams like USC and LSU always get great recruits also. We do not know if they are the best yet or not. They may be the best in high school but college is a whole different experience. I think many guys try to get to Ohio State to go to the NFL, the tradition (Especially if family went to Ohio State) , the experiences and much more. JUst think about it why would you go to a large campuse? Same reason they pick OSU, LSU, USC they get more expsoure, more experience and a better shot to go to the NFL. OSU and the Big Ten have a large audience so many people watch. I know OSU has a huge fan base that is unreal at times. Also you get the chance to be "famous" at OSU. We do not have an good NFL teams in Ohio so we tend to love our college football so when you play good you become an instant celebrity. To go to a home OSU game and hear people chant your name or thousands wear your jersery number that has to feel real special.
