Why is Palin having her daughter's boyfriend flown to the convention?

If they want to keep this a private matter, let it be private. It is uncommon for the boyfriends of teenage girls to make campaign appearances with their parents. More interestingly, who is paying for this? And finally, does it send a message that it is "cool" to have s*x as a teenager? After all, if she weren't pregnant, he wouldn't be there.

They picked Pilan for one reason and one reason alone -- she's a woman that is proguns and antigay, antiabortion -- otherwise, she's done nothing but be a mayor for a town of 5000 people.  John McCain just showed his focus -- wedge issues, that's all he has left.

Good point.  Now it looks like the easiest ticket onto the stage of a major party's political convention is to have unprotected s*x with a candidate's underage daughter.  I would have never guessed the GOP would allow this, being for "family values" and all.  Then again, the GOP I grew up with would have protested the Patriot Act and stood up against government intrusion into the lives of citizens.  The party has definitely abandoned moral voters such as myself, so I'm crossing the line for the first time and voting for the Democrat who is still on his first wife, has conceived all of his children within wedlock, and encourages his daughters to do the same.  How's that for turning the tables?

And no...there is no message that it's "cool" to have s*x as a teenager.  It's showing a loving family that love their kids and will help them through a hard time in their life!   How do you know he wouldn't still be there with her?  This is a family like any other family in America...they have the same problems we do, they make the same mistakes we do.  

It's terrible that so many democrats and liberals (same thing I guess) have to go out of their way to tear a teenager apart that they don't even know!  It just shows their true colors....
