  1. It's not about who you're with, it's all about the place, the history, the things to see. I'm going back again next weekend for three days, it'll be my third time.

  2. Because there are a lot of nice old buildings, with a lot of lights.

There is the idea that it''s a city related with fashion.

And my personnal opinion as a non parisian french attracted by paris for spending hollidays is that this city is the temple of the individualism. You can be raped in the underground and people all around you will maybe not help you. Each one take care of himself only. So.... when you are in such a city, with your love, to survive, you need to strenghten your couple link. Because when you are two, life is less hard and nothing is impossible.

And considering that background in such a beautifull place; it creates romantism.

Too you may have in mind some cliche that you have seen in old romantic movies. Well, it's still possible to live them yourself, so.. you can realise some fantasms , wich is often nice.

  3. the city of lights! the eiffel tower! various boutiques!

seriously though, if it wasn't so crowded & full of purse snatchers in the metro (the friend i was with had her wallet swiped!) maybe it would be very romantic!

    hope i helped!

  4. The atmosphere is great, the atchitecture is wonderful, the city at night is enchanting, the food and wine is brilliant....go there with someone you love and you'll see why for yourself.  Pity it is full of French but one can't have everything.

  5. one the french did not make the FRENCH frie no clue why we call them that  plus It only romantic  if you can look past the smells the filth and the  ,beggars  a round Paris   it may have been different back in the 20s and  30s but this days  it not that great and  french are not that great as lovers lol Thumbs down to you too *rolls eyes  Paris smells get over it it not clean and  if your blind  to the beggars all around the Paris area then open your eyes it not romantic i can open my window right now look around and see the pollution in the air  from the burning of the garbage and the cars  whats  so romantic about that ?

  6. Do you know?  FRECH kisses , FRECH toasts , and maybe FRENCH fries.

  7. its not. in reality.

  8. It's pretty.  I don't know, something about it just makes it romantic.  I think Venice is MORE romatic.

  9. I think it depends on the person you are with at the time.

To visit it alone, it is not romantic, but with somebody you love it can be.

  10. It's not, it's just hype.

  11. hey

probably beacause of the french kiss and because of the atmosphere.  I mean the tower the river . . .  =]

  12. Even though a large majority of Parisians do not enjoy the American tourists and our "rude" attempts to speak their beautiful language one cannot miss the chance to visit the "City of Love".  From the charming old buildings intertwined with the modern new ones you can get a sense of cohesiveness that blends very well together.  They respect the past while moving forward.  The small outdoor cafes where you can enjoy an espresso and croissaint while leisurely reading a book or just people "watching".  Asking a Parisian for directions knowing you are going to get them in french is so alluring because you can allow your mind to go anywhere and fall in love with the beauty of the language and imagine in your own mind exactly what you want them to be saying.  The men are so gorgeous and kind.  The many parks where people take their time, which is not of the essence as it is in America.  People aren't as driven by the clock.  The various shops where you can buy just about anything your heart desires.  And the food, oh la, la.  The perfection they spend preparing and serving meals.  The luxury of enjoying a glass of wine and bread and cheese and then an lovely entree and then a scrumptous dessert and finally a lovely port or brandy.  And nothing is hurried, there is always a long conversation and the meal seems to go on and on, once more proof that Parisians are not ruled by the clock.  Even the wait service gives you personal service so rare you feel "love" in that.  Then you at dusk you stroll along the Seine and see the lovers walking hand in hand, stopping to kiss and talk.  It's lovely.  Back in your hotel with the windows open time is still stopped.  You can smell the love, you feel the love.  And for all you naysayers who speak of filth and pickpockets and theives, they are everywhere there are tourists.  You protect yourself and enjoy yourself.  I've traveled practicaly the world over and Paris truly is the one and only city of love.  It is in the air, the food, the people and the wine, the museums, the buildings, the parks and of course the Effiel Tower.  It just exsists there.

    Peace & Love  :)

  13. It's not, it's just S****y.

  14. Every time I hear a romantic w/end in Paris, I think are they talking about the same place I know. Personally I wouldn't let a mad dog loose there, but that's my choice and you did ask.

  15. The architecture

  16. Its the relaxed atmoshphere, the culture, the arts, its just speaks of romance. Got be there to understand it.

  17. There's several reasons that Paris is considered so romantic.

    A) The Language.  Whether you know how to speak Parisian French or not, it is a beautiful, expressive language.

    B) The Seine.  This slow moving meandering river flows through the center of Paris right by the Eiffel Tower, and is a GREAT place to take your lover for a romantic walk, even at night.  The banks of the Seine are safe and romantic.  French authorities cater to lovers on the Seine.

    C) The Merchants.  Merchants know people come to Paris when they're feeling romantic, and the merchants play that to their advantage.  They offer beautiful, romantic items that Westerners simply don't think of when they're offering romantic gifts (think crystal roses, and paper hearts you can write messages on and float on the Seine).

    D) The Culture.  With the Louvre, and Notre Dame right in the heart of the city (and the palace of Versailles a short drive away), you will find that Paris has a culture like no other city on Earth.

    E) The Atmosphere.  Lying in a Paris hotel room at night with the window open, while the moon streams in and the city hums is simply indescribable.

Paris is not a city.  Paris is an experience.  It is an event.  When you visit Paris for the first time, you will begin to see things differently.

  18. Good question!hey created French Kissing? Hmm I dont know...

  19. Its not....Switzerland is romantic.

  20. because france has to have SOMETHING good about it.

to be honest, all ive heard is that all they sell to eat is bread and cheese, there are lots of beggers who mug you, there are lots of brothels, the streets are dirty, and its full of sweaty tourists trying to capture the "romantic" atmosphere.
