The world No. 2 is aggrieved after a fellow pro, Scott McCarron, suggested that by using the Ping Eye 2 club with square grooves (legal because of a loophole - clubs with square grooves were banned this year), Mickelson was cheating. The PGA Tour have released a statement, saying that "Public comments or criticisms characterizing use (of the Ping wedges) as a violation … are inappropriate at best," suggesting, that were McCarron to be sued, he would likely lose the case.
