  1. i like to stay out of politics so i'll try humour instead. maybe because chinese people cut their meat with big, sharp cleavers?

  2. Cause they hate us?!?!?! That sounds like one of his smarter ideas!

  3. Mr. Bush had to finance his war and his tax cuts for billionaires and the main source of finance was China.  You do not ever do anything to antagonize your lender, you are polite and respectful.  China could destroy us if they called in their loans.  This is why starting wars you don't need is a bad idea.  So is cutting taxes for people who can afford to pay them.  Its called "loss of soverignty"--the US can never act on its own again, it will have to clear everything it wants to do with the Communist Chinese government.  Thank the supreme ct. for all of that, they put Mr. Bush in power in 2000.

  4. Because freedom is contagious and the Chinese people have been bitten by the bug.

  5. Are you sure Bush knows what "appeasing" means?

  6. if you havent noticed our money is chinese in all but name only thanks to the "national bank"

  7. Because that Vietnam war monger Henry Kissinger has made a fortune living off the Chinese through his company, Kissinger Associates.

  8. It's not about the Chinese completely....it's also about the Olympics.

  9. China is has 20-25 percent of the world's population.  They have or soon will have the largest economy in the world.  They are a major financial and trading partner.  We rely on China to help us deal with some of their neighbors.  The Chinese foolishly lend our government vast sums of money, which we all know will never be repaid.

Then they are hosting this little thing called the Olympics.  Unlike other fine upstanding citizens like Black September, Jimmy Carter, Adolf Hitler, or the Soviets, Bush is putting the sport above politics.  Bush's detractors complain that he is not respectful to foreign governments, and then when he is they complain about that too.

Bush isn't appeasing, he is just showing due respect.

  10. It is called "respect".  Since we are not at war with China, that is what the US offers other nations.

China is gigantic, a nuclear power, has its own agenda, and doesn't listen to anyone period.

So the safest thing to do with the 500 pound gorilla, is not get it unnecessarily riled up.

  11. Because china is a huge and powerful nation.

  12. Because the chinese workforce is responsible for lots of the goods we buy, es[ecially cheap ones like those found at walmart.

And China is set to be a extremely large economic powerhouse in the future, it makes sense to be on their good side.

  13. Because he is Bush, he can do anything and no one will impeach him.

  14. Cause they own our *** right now.  The Chinamen have bought most of our treasury bonds that we put out to fund the war in Iraq.  If they called in all their bonds today, they would bankrupt America.

  15. Because he wants to go to China and NOT be booed like he is in EVERY venue in America.

Irony--he has to go to a communist country to not get treated the way he deserves.

  16. China now has the economic power and military power to be a serious threat to any nation, including the US.

Every President going forward needs to maintain good relations.

  17. China is vitally important to the US economy.  We want to maintain good trade relations with them.

  18. The  simple  answer  is  hypocrisy. Bush  regularly  condemns  human  rights  in  various  nations  but  appeases  the  Chinese,  kisses  the  hands  of  the  Saudis,  unconditionally  backs  Israel and  entertains  many  tyrants. China  has  lots  of  trade  deals  with  the  US  and  is  a  future  superpower  and  the  US  has  got  to  stay  on  the  right  side  of  it.
