  1. He will be King for some time and then when HE is ready, he will pass the crown to William.

  2. Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales, the title of the heir to the UK throne. When his mother Queen Elizabeth passes, he will become king. And his elder son Prince William will become Prince of Wales, until his father passes, when he in turn will become king.

  3. Charles will not become King until his mother, Queen Elizabeth II passes away or abdicates.  Same thing goes for William.  He will become the Prince of Wales when his father become the King.

  4. When the Queen dies, Charles will be king. And then when Charles dies, William will become king.

    That's the way it works.

  5. Because he is still alive, as is his mother the Queen.  He will become King on his mother's death, assuming that he outlives her.  After his death, his oldest surviving son will become King.

  6. "Crown Prince" is a term meaning the heir apparent to the throne.  As such, Charles will be Crown Prince until he ascends to the throne, dies, or renounces his place in the line of succession.

  7. He's still Crown Prince cause his Mother's still alive, he'll (likely) be king when she stops this. Unless he just passes it onto William.

    .

  8. Actually, he is NOT the crown prince but the Prince of Wales. This is the title of the first born son of the reigning Monarch. Before becoming Prince of Wales there is a ceremony in Caernarvon in Wales when the eldest son of the Monarch is presented to the Welsh people. Then and only then, does he become the Prince of Wales.  Prince Charles is also Earl of St Andrew (Scottish title). His son (the next in line to the English throne) is Prince William, after his father's Coronation, he will, when presented to the people of Wales become The Prince of Wales.

It is a very old title dating back to Edward the first that gave the Welsh people a Prince of their own.

Actually, it was a means of controlling them when they were unhappy being ruled by England.

English history is very complicated - most English people haven't really got a grip of it.

  9. is that you in the picture? you are hot!!!

  10. As I understand:

    He won't ever be king.

He's already abdicated the throne in order to not bring it dishonor due to having had a divorce.

His son will become king when the queen dies.  God save the queen.

  11. he will pass the crown to his son when he dies, he will inherit the kingship when his mother dies or abdicates.

  12. Prince Charles will become a King when Queen Elizabeth dies, then his older son which is William will become a prince.

  13. It's all a matter of family heirarchy... when QE2 dies then he becomes the king, and his first son the crown prince.  William becomes king when Charles kicks the bucket.  Won't that be a hoot for Camilla!

  14. when the queen passes.........

  15. When his mother, HM the Queen dies Charles will become King.  Should HRH the Prince of Wales (Charles) abdicate or in the event of his death the Crown passes to HRH William, his eldest son.

  16. Queen Elizabeth II currently holds the crown and will be the reigning monarch until she decides to abdicate the throne to her oldest son Prince Charles.  (She has another son, Prince Andrew). The Queen has been married since the late 1947 to Prince Phillip, but I believe due to him not being a British born citizen  he was ineligible to be king.

Prince William (Prince Charles oldest son) is next in line for the throne after his father but I would assume it will decades before William is crowned king.

  17. Maybe because Rory Emerald doesn't want the job.

  18. he will be king when the queen dies.  then his son will be crown prince

  19. He has the title of crown prince because he is first in line to the throne, being the queens son. When the queen dies he becomes king unless he decides he doesn't want to, then it'll be William. He doesn't have to pass the crown though. We don't know if he'll decide to abdicate, only once it's made official will we know who's going to be king?
