  1. The daughter of the Earl of Wessex is called Lady

  2. In the same way that Princess Anne's kids are not Prince and Princess even they too are grandchildren to the Queen and therefore the same relationship as William and Harry to her! The title of Prince or Princess is not automatic and is granted. Edward's daughter is so far down the inheritance to the crown, even though at one point Edward was 3rd in line, that it's not an issue of her being in line. Also if every kid of every prince/princess was given the title it would exponentially grow each generation.

  3. I don't know....because prince andrew's daughters are princesses, aren't they??

Aine: it's not the same as princess Anne's children - they are not entitled to be princes and princesses because princess Anne is a woman and therefore can't pass her title on.

  4. Technically she is a princess but the Earl and Countess of Wessex opted to have her known as "Lady." From http://www.royal.gov/uk "At the time of their wedding it was decided, with the couple's agreement, that any children they had should not be given the style His or Her Royal Highness, but would have courtesy titles as sons or daughters of an earl." The Royal family are trying to pare down the number of titled royals as a cost saving measure;the public wants less extravagance and one of the first things looked at was paring down the Civil List allowance money given to the Royals.Elizabeth's immediate family members, except for Charles are now looked after by the Queen.Only she and Philip receive Civil Allowance monies;Prince Charles runs the money-making Duchy of Cornwall and receives no money.Anne,Edward, and Andrew all work for the Queen in some capacity and receive payment from her coffers. All other members of the Royal family must work.

  5. It could be because how far down in the lineage she is to ever getting the crown. Could also be because of her mothers back round and if they had lords and ladies her mothers back round. That's my best guess.

  6. Lady Louise Windsor is legally Her Royal Highness Princess Louise of Wessex. As a granddaughter of the monarch in the male line, she is legally Her Royal Highness Princess Louise of Wessex, not Lady Louise Windsor, and, when she comes of age, she may legally use the title Princess Louise, if she wishes. However, when her parents married, they decided that their children would be styled as the children of an earl rather than as princes or princesses with the style Royal Highness. This was intended to reduce the burden of royal titles and the responsibility that comes with them. In the absence of letters patent, Lady Louise legally remains a Princess of the United Kingdom, regardless of how she is styled. Although her last name is Mountbatten-Windsor she is styled only using the surname Windsor.

  7. I think they chose that title so that she can be a "regular person".

  8. her father is not a king
