  1. The house was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Prince Albert designed the house himself. The builder was Thomas Cubitt, the London architect and builder whose company also built the main façade of Buckingham Palace. An earlier, smaller house on the site was demolished.

  2. For people who start a search on this: it is Osborne house, not Osbourne.

Buddi: can you name your source please?

    Have a nice day.

  3. She bought it off Ozzy!

  4. It is named after George Osbourne the Tory minister.

  5. Osborne House was the name of the original house on the site that was demolished by Prince Albert prior to building the royal residence there now.
