Hey there, I am on a mission to help get Ray Guy into the Professional Football Hall of Fame. It is a travesty that such a player, with skill as great as his, is not in the Hall already. Please visit, and help me spread the word about the blog. http://rayguyforhof.blogspot.com/

  1. Actually, I thought he was. I think he still holds the record for longest punt and longest average on the season. I agree, he should be there but I also think several other players who are, shouldn't be.

  2. Because he's a Raider. Jim Plunkett Raider QB) is the only NFL QB to win TWO super bowls that is not in the hall of fame. Tom Flores is the only NFL head coach that is not in the hall of fame. I guess Raiders are just held to a higher standard.

  3. i know hes good, but the voters only want position players pretty much

  4. I don't know but he should be. Of course, there are quite a few players that should be also. Including Cris Carter and Jim Marshall. Crazy!

  5. If Ray Guy isn't in it really is a shame.

I know he's only a punter but that guy could change field position with one kick.

Can anyone who has ever seen him kick not remember him having his knee in his own face. WOW.

  6. right or wrong, special teams are not as highly acclaimed as 'position players' despite the fact that it entails ~1/3 of the game.  it is entirely undervalued in the grand scheme of things and it is a shame that ray guy is on the outside looking in...
