  1. Because he is playing a black character, he is hilarious, great movie.

  2. The film was meant to be funny, not to be taken seriously.

  3. The reason behind this is that we've all seen movies where an actor is cast in a role that isn't right for them or they just shouldn't be doing at all. That is the case with the character that Downey is playing. You'll notice that in every scene with him as a blackman there is a real blackman saying "what the h**l are you doing?" . It's supposed to be funny. I want to see so bad.

  4. He plays an afican american army sereant in Tropic Thunder directed by Ben Stiller. it's about some actors makin a war movie but gets caught up in a real kind of war.

Downey  actually plays an australian actor named Kirk Lazarus who is very method so he surgically dyes his skin to play african american Lincoln Osirus.

  5. Because it's a movie about a movie, and in the movie he plays an white actor who plays a black guy... so it's not like they could've got a black guy for the role. I don't know who came up with the idea, or why, though.
