  1. because there is a lot of talent in rugby league more points are scored the hits are harder there are superstars greg bird paul gallen darren lockyer johnathan thurston brett stewart greg inglis israel folau sonny bill williams just to name a few and rugby league is more free flowing shorter and not so bloody boring

  2. because it's far more widespread across australia than rugby union is, but union is also heavily popular

the fact that we have probably the top world team in league does also play it's advantages...can't deny the wallabies deserved to be knocked out this year

  3. Because it has to have very easy rules so that an Aussie can understand them?

  4. Because Australians are a little backwards!

  5. What is Union rules? Like Australian Rules? Huh?

League just is more popular in Oz cos maybe it looks harder and tougher and suits the Oz mentality.

  6. Because rugby league is far more entertaining and there is more skill involved in league...

  7. Cause League is more simple then rugby which makes it easier to understand than rugby.

  8. Aussies like to be different.  Just look at Aussie Rules, basketball with a rugby shaped ball.

  9. Cause Rugby League is just more interesting and exciting, there is just some pointless stuff in union...

    But thats just my opinion...
