Also he is not obligated to "perform/dance"  just because he owns a team.

Yes , true enough that he is not obligated to perform for the IPL.Shahrukh is also busy with Paanchvipass but he is trying & working very hard right now to balance both entertainment.

Latest news is that Shahrukh Khan has decided to perform on the evening of Ponchisey Boisakh, just before the beleaguered Knight Riders take on the Royal Challengers in their third match on home turf.

Shah Rukh has asked officials of his company, Red Chillies Entertainment, to arrange for a makeshift 30ftx20ft stage at an appropriate spot for him and his troupe to perform for 15-20 minutes before the match starts at 8pm.

Shah Rukh Khan will finally give a live performance to his fans at the Eden Gardens on Thursday evening when his Kolkata Knight Riders take on Mallaya's Royal Challengers.

Khan's close friends and Red Chillies event managers, Cineyug, will be building a special stage – albeit a much smaller from the original plan - for his performance.

"We are building a 30 x 20 foot stage for SRK's performance. He will perform before the start of the match. The performance will be spectacular. He will be dancing to some of his latest hits," says a source from Cineyug.

The source adds that it's not just SRK who will be enthralling the audience. "Almost all teams have had numerous Bollywood celebs turn out. Now its KKR's turn to show their Bollywood jalwa! Kareena and Saif are expected to share the stage with him tomorrow evening," he says.

The King Khan was previously expected to perform at his team's last match at the Eden Gardens on April 29th. But the star had backed out at the last minute citing "unavoidable reasons" but officials at the ground say it had more to do with revenue than anything else.

"Shah Rukh had initially wanted a huge stage set up at one end of the stadium. Almost 600 seats would be blocked thanks to the stage he previously had in mind. That made no monetary sense to Red Chillies and so this time he is going for a much smaller one. Now he will barely occupy as much space as about 50 seats. As it is the performance will be for barely 20 minutes," says an official on grounds of anonymity.

As the team owner Khan's Red Chillies large source of income are these ticket sales with a part going to the venue owners. The buzz suggests that ticket sales have been below satisfactory for any of the home matches for SRK's Kolkata Knight Riders which could have prompted the Khan to minimize his costs."
