It's an absolute honour for any sportsman anywhere in the world to run with the Olympic Torch.

Of course having the biggest and most famous cricketer in the world carrying the Torch can only raise the interest in cricket, and also the IOC's interest in including cricket in the Olympics.

The whole Tibet situation is so sad, BUT it can only be good for cricket to have Tendulkar carry the Torch

Because he does not have true moral integrity.....my view of him has now changed to a very negative one on hearing this news.  I suppose he is entitled to his views, though.

My own world view is that it is abhorrent to take the view "sport and politics should not mix".  Evil behaviour should be condemned and sport is comparatively trivial; all nations of the world should boycott the Olympics and then China would get the full extent of the message of disapproval of its immoral, odious behaviour.

Same reason KP did the same in England. To get the IOC to wake up to the fact that we finally have a form of the game suitable for the Olympics - Twenty20. Just make sure the ICC isn't involved and it will be fine.
