Why is Sarah Palin a Republican? ?

She seems to be a reasonably level-headed person and she has campaigned on the platform of getting rid of corruption. She even had a hand in stopping the bridge to nowhere. Can someone tell me why she would want to be affiliated with the party of Stevens and Bush/Cheney?

Huge difference between a fiscal conservative republican that she amplifies, to those that are more Centrist democratic republicans spenders, and huge difference with the socialist democrat party!

Because she is smart. She has common sense. She doesn't rely on empty platitudes. She is not a cry baby. She has conservative values, and doesn't apologize for it. She is self reliant, hunts, fishes,and probably owns a gun. I like it!

She's conservative and religious. She's pro-life. She's anti-g*y marriage. She's a Republican for sure. The stomping out corruption is the only good thing I've been able to find about her. She has no clue what a VP does though and she minored in Politics.

edit: She did not come from blue collar parents. Her dad was a popular Science teacher. I'm not sure that I remember what her mom does. I would not call her from a blue collar family. From what I can see she has had a great life. She's been more fortunate than others. Her looks have helped her. Her sportman skills have too. She has great parents.

She's pro-life, pro-gun and anti-g*y, that's why. Unfortunate, isn't it? She seems like a lovely person, her ethics reform is definitely commendable. I just wish her stance on the issues wasn't so... medieval.

Bush, and Cheney are only people and are not a reflection of the party. The party is about less government control and more power to the people. Sarah Palin is a great woman with America in her heart. To be fair you may have a point about the expansion of the government under Bush/Cheney and many of these expansions were through executive order and did not have my Conservative support.

1.) Because she has interest in Big Oil.

2.) She only talks about getting rid of corruption, but actually is involved in it.  Hence the ongoing investigation into her firing of an employee.

3.) Her party needs her for a desperation women operation.  McCain is losing women to Obama by double digits and he hopes to make a dent in that.  I'm sure he will not once the women view Palin's views.
