Why is Sarkozy so interested in promoting the EU at the expense of France?

  1. Because he just found out as being the President of France that the production of France's work force is lazy and is as worthless as t*ts on a boar pig.


  2. I don't think he is.

    At the minute France holds the EU presidency so he's spending a lot of time talking about the EU, especially the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.

  3. France currently holds the rotating EU Presidency and so it is President Sarkozy's duty to promote the interests of the Union and to do his best to facilitate the Union moving forward.

    However, when it comes down to a choice between the EU and France I do not believe he would chose to support the Union to the detriment of France.

    In fact his statements, for example about the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and about Agricultural Subsidies (in the context of the Doha Round negotiations currently taking place at the WTO in Geneva), show that when it comes down to it - for President Sarkozy France comes first.
