Why is Service Pack 2 not downloading?

I have windows XP and for iTunes to update i need service pack 2. yet when i install it from the windows update, it stops at "Creating file cabinets" i've tried multiple times from different sites to install it but it always stops there. help me please!

Dude i recently did that to update to SP2 but they dont have that one to download in alot of websites! Upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 3 that's the latest version!! Get it from Windows Update or Microsoft.com, SP3 Should stop that error when your trying to install SP2!

Steps to do Before  you install the service pack .:

Run "disk cleanup" on your harddrive to remove the temporary garbage files from the computer.

The ONLY site you should download service packs from is microsoft's site.  Go to the update page and update to SP3.
