  1. Uh, if you have a question you want answered, why not EXPLAIN what you're talking about?

What makes you think s*x is taboo in the US?

  2. I always find it a little funny when America is considered sexually "liberal". I suppose compared to some places we are but to others we are not! We're about in the middle really.

The much of the "taboo" you ask about comes from the Puratin values of the orginal settlers. Christianity has very mixed messages about s*x and some groups feel that s*x is only for reproductive purposes.

ETA: We'll be "liberal" when we offer free birth control to all, legalize g*y marriage and prostitution, and have no laws concerning breastfeeding, topless women, etc.

  3. the Bible says s*x outside marriage is sin, it is very clear, but less and less people are following the Bible today. Thus aids, std's and some we dont even know what is is going around. God Help us. Abstinence until marriage is best, it creates a bond between a man and a woman that will not easily break because that is the way God intended it to be. The divorce rate in this country is out the roof. Nobody really seems to care anymore. And the results are obvious and predictable.

  4. It is hardly taboo anymore. They talk about s*x all the time on Oprah and Tyra and all the other talk shows. They talk about how to please your man/woman,etc.s*x isn't taboo anymore it's just that it's seen as being a PRIVATE matter. Also,we have been conditioned to sort of feel guilty about sexual urges due to religions and such. However,we are VERY liberal today.

  5. i think you need to go out more...lol.

  6. I don't think s*x is as much a taboo as showing love and respect.

You see s*x and sexual desires everywhere you turn, but the foundation of relationships?

    Nowhere to be found.

That's why marriages and relationships are doomed from the start, because people don't know themselves and they get into these lustful relationships.

Without knowing what they themselves want, how can they ever express what they want in a relationship to someone else?

They go in with hope and dreams, just like we see in the media...but they don't know how to communicate when the butterflies fade, which DO fade eventually.

  7. Well this is a great question.

s*x in the U.S. is not taboo at all, but it has been so socialized it's ridiculous. It's like going down the street to have a sandwhich. Very pathetic.

Luckily, unlike other "religions", Muslims who are comfortable in their own skin are free to ask questions about s*x to our more knowledgable teachers or "sheikhs." Of course s*x is only legal for married people, and we understand the importance of it because it is part of our nature. We don't go out blabbing about it, but we are taught about it and know that intamacy is very important in marriage, and not just for reproduction.

Wouldn't know that from watching tv huh?

  8. Talking about Jesus is more taboo than s*x. You cannot even discuss Jesus is public schools. s*x you can talk about in schools.
