Why is Sonic- the fast food chain advertised on tv when they do not exist in Michigan?

I have no clue...there are none in Ohio either and I see the commercials all the time...they are just waisting their money

there's commercials ALL the time for them here but there's only one i know of in fullerton. mmm...cherry limeade...

don't have them in or anywheres near maine either i ate there this past february vacation alot while i was visiting my aunt and uncle in phoenix arizona since they live down the street from one.

They do the exact same thing in New York, according to a friend. I guess if you're on a roadtrip, you'll be likely to stop there because you've seen commercials for it.

Luckily I live right down the street from one at home... But I miss it at college!

I found out that is is cheaper for the company  to advertise nationally than to advertise locally.

They do not exist in upstate ny either.  I have had them in tx though, and honestly cant say there all that great.

We were not too happy when we arrived in pontiac and found no building called sonic....

they do the same in Decaatur and we dont even have one 50 miles around! i dont even think they have one in indiana. so i no what its like. but their slushes are really good. i only get sonic when i go to chicago :[ but its because thier a big productions ALL over the US. so they just do comercials everywhere. they dont specifiy on states. they just pick channels like MTV and VH1 and play them on thier.

if it is a national tv channel they advertise a lot of different companies. i live in mississippi and they advertise comercials for red robin and boston market and we  don't have any of those resturants in mississippi.they advertise a lot of deparment stores and other things that we don't have either.

To encourage you to go south to a Sonic. There are a lot in North Carolina. Plus, big tv stations don't chose to advertise in certain states.

They do the same here in Oregon and we dont have one either in our town or anywhere near. It's kinda like a cruel form of torture since b4 I moved here, I always lived near one. So, I really know what I'm missin'.  lol
