I am a south african living in pretoria.

when i watch cnn or sky or bbc or the weather channels, i find very often that there are earth quakes, tornados, tsunamis, cyclones etc. in many countries around the world. But i have NEVER heard of anything to that extent in south africa, what chooses when and where these freak weather occurances happen, and why not south africa? (Not that im complaining or anything)

  1. They get those too.  They may not get the same frequency but they do happen.   You have a lot of droughts and famine there too.

  2. My friend, I live in Norway and I have never seen earthquake or tornadoes here either.

But all Norwegians seafarers know that the Cape of Good Hope is one of the nastiest corner of the world and if you have no tornadoes, you have your share of storms and terrible weather at sea.
