Why is St. Andrew the Patron Saint of Army Rangers?

my boyfriendd is about to leave and i want to get him something...so i had decided on St. Christopher (protection) but then i heard that St. Andrew was their patron saint...i really wanna know why.

  1. I have never heard of that s**+*t before and I've served with the 75th Ranger Regiment for four years.

    I saw it listed on Wikipedia when I researched it...

    Patronage:

    Scotland, Russia, Sicily, Greece, Romania, Amalfi, Luqa (Malta) and Prussia; Army Rangers, mariners, fishermen, fishmongers, rope-makers, singers and performers

    That's retarded. If there was actually any truth / active practice regarding St. Andrew and Army Rangers, I would know about it. As for a gift, get him a man's gift: buy him a gun or knife.
