  1. He got smashed by the Windies on Day 2 and Day 3 - hardly landed a ball on the correct length. You can watch him bowl and see the analysis on why he retired at:

  2. Ange, i hope thats not the truth, cos i've seen his show, and its cr@p!!

i think its just cos he struggling to perform how he wants to and thats letting the team down so hes stepping down

but Ange also hit on a point i wanted to raise looking at the 3rd test, who will debut? will Casson come in and be a straight spinner for spinner swap, OR will they use Clarke and Symonds in the spinners role and play Noffke, to further complicate things, the batting between the pair of them is fairly even, tho i think Noffke would be in front on that count, but who do you think will be the replacement?

  3. I read this morning on yahoo7s website that his wrist hasn't healed properly & he has to give it up.

  4. To much wine & too many dummy spits.seriously, he's ancient.

  5. he can bowl well

  6. Well you can tell your dad MacGill is retiring because he isan old f**t and he wants to spend more time drinking wine and doing his cooking show...pmsl

No Stuart has been hampered by a knee injury for a long time now and also his carpal tunnel in his wrist was not corrected properly and is giving him h**l...

About time i say.To me the solectors did the wrong thing in solecting MacGill for the tour in the first place, now they have to try and find someone to strp into his shoes..Michael Clarke and Andrew Symonds will most proberly take on the role between the 2 of them,we know they both can get wickets when needed...

Here are a few words from MacGill anyway----

MacGill, who has been far below his best during this series after returning from wrist surgery and a knee injury during the summer, told teammates before play today that his 44th Test was going to be his last.

The NSW veteran said he did not want to let teammates down or sully his own impressive Test record by playing on.

The wicket of Sarwan today was his 208th in Test cricket, but he again struggled for consistent line and length.

"As I said many times last summer, there is no way I will ever walk onto a cricket field unless I can guarantee that I can dismiss top order batsmen consistently," MacGill said.

"The prospect of letting myself and the team down is simply not an option.

"I have worked way too hard for too long to sabotage my achievements by playing Test cricket for the wrong reasons

  7. he's tired of it

  8. he old now

    37 year old

  9. Despite having best strike ratel has not had a regular place in the Australian Test team, often being overlooked due to the dominance of Shane Warne in the position of sole spinner, for most of his career.   However whenever he had an opportunity to play, his carreer was interrupted by injuries.  Since he has already passed 37 years of age, he has decided to call it a day.
