  1. CBD has lots of things to see and do, walking around is a fav past tiem for many tourists, the aquarium and darling harbour is in the CBD, QVB is good for shopping.

  2. work, shops, park

  3. Many people still work on the weekends, many people go shopping, many people are bored and just go for a walk, many people live in the CBD.

But perhaps most of all Sydney has such a high level of tourism, tourists want to see all the sites of Sydney, so they're everywhere to.

I was trying to find my way to the train station a little while ago, I asked a couple of asian girls because there were no western looking people in the area.

They almost only spoke Korean unfortunately. But they did try to help which was very kind of them.

A nice day but another example of the high amount of tourism.

  4. They are all busy running around the streets showing each other what they just bought. And making sure it is "better" than what everyone else bought. That is why they don't look you in the eye. They are too busy checking out your shopping trolley!

  5. I stayed in NSW on the central coast for a couple of weeks, a few years ago. I went into Sydney CBD for a bit of a look around and discovered the same thing. It seemed that no-one would look you in the eye (not good for an Aussie) for acknowledgement - all  those I saw were trying not to tread on ants, or so it seemed. So much for recognition of fellow Australians.

It also seemed that the people who I saw, were rushing around and at the same time, had nowhere to go - I can't fully explain the perception - it just seemed that they could have gone further, if they were pushing into walls and walking. All I know is that I won't be visiting again.

That is Sydney, not the Central Coast, nor it seems anywhere outside of the place (I won't call Sydney, what I think it is, but think of Blu-tack as the short answer).

Anywhere else in NSW, is worth having a look at and the people are much more Aussie.
