When really it is Canberra? (ACT -Australian Capital Territory)

Is it because Canberra is smaller and for instance would not hold a lot of people in a big event like Sydney did in our olympics in 2000?

Don't get me wrong, I like Sydney but personally there are cleaner, nicer other cities Aus has.

  1. Because it's where all the action is.

  2. Sydney is the largest city, it's the most well known globally, thus people assume it's the capital (when they don't really know).

Canberra to be honest is only really a place to go if you're involved directly in the government or industries that service the government. It's not the nicest place to live, nor is it the most exciting place.

You probably had more people fly into Australia for the Olympics than live in Canberra.

  3. because it's a capital for economic, tourist and etc

  4. It's because Sydney is our largest and busiest city and it's the one that gets the most overseas publicity because of its high tourist profile. It's only some people from overseas that think that anyway: knowledgeable visitors and all Australians know that Canberra is our capital.

  5. Because Sydney is the biggest city.

  6. It's only seen like that by stuck up Sydney Residents the rest of us don't
