  1. They never started broadcasting Channel 5 from every transmitter in the country, only a few and 11 years later this is still the case. Most of those that broadcast it transmit it on a lower power than rest of the channels anyway so the signal's weaker. ON Digital started not long after Channel 5 and this also used an aerial. So my guess is they never started broadcasting Channel 5 at the same power as the others to make way for the ON Digital transmissions that were there back then. Then ON changed to ITV Digital, then eventually that died and we got Freeview. But all this time there have been digital transmissions there so the power on Channel 5 never increased. Now they'll just leave it until the digital switchover when all the analogue goes off completely and the digital transmission gets changed to full power and strengthened to increase the coverage. That's just my guess.

  2. It was fine until about 4 months ago, this is something we should be emailing a complaint to the station about, what do you think? I'm in...........

    It sure stinks now.................

  3. Aha i don't know!, my channel 5 reception is poor too on the TV in my bedroom even though all other channels are crystal clear. Although it works perfect with a roof aerial.  It doesn't bother me anyway as channel 5 is mostly full of c**p!
