Why is THE PHANTOM coming to the sci fi channel?

Ok Im a little miffed. The sci fi channel used to be in a class of its own but in the last 60r7 years, they really turned out a hot pile of t**d from here to eternity. Now comes word that they wanna molest another comic classic called the phantom like they did Flash Gordon. The Phantom is the story of a guy who comes from a lineage of crimefighters in his family. They wear the same suit so the natives think its one dude called "the ghost who walks". Billy Zane starred in the only recent movie of the guy in 95-96 but I cant fathom why the studio would give the character to the sci fi channel??? People familiar with the phantom write back. cool... Flash Gordon took a cheesy series and  made a pretty d**n good series, turned BSG into an AMAZING series... hopefully they can do the same with the phantom.

I like the Phantom, it still runs in my Sunday paper. I hope this is a good adaptation. You should check out the old serial on DVD from VCI and Defenders of the Earth where the Phantom, Mandrake the Magician and Flash Gordon and their next generation of kids are a super hero group. Also there was a Phantom Cartoon earlier this millennium but I never saw it.
