Why is Taiwan included in the Philippine area of responsibility?

  1. I think based on the link, its because of the proximity and usually no typhoons will hit taiwan unless it come close to the Philippines.

    Philippines is a hotspot for typhoons always..  


  2. Basically because it is close to Batanes, where many storms pass through. Palau is also included in the Philippine Area of Repsonsibility.

    The Philippine Area of Responsibility borders Okinawa, Japan too, as well as Guam, Indonesia, and Malaysia.  

  3. Don't know where you got that one from... Philippines and Taiwan have adjoining areas of responsibility - that means where one ends, the other starts.  

  4. One possible thing that pops to my mind is because of Taiwan's proximity to the Philippines.
