Why is Tetsuya's considered the best restaurant in Sydney and how expensive is it?

Tetsuyas is not only one of the best restaurants in australia, it is also considered one of the top 10 in the world! Thats pretty good. I havent been there, but as a self confessed food connoisseur it is definetly one of the places i want to visit when i go to sydney.

The chef (Tetsuya) does some incredible things with food, arranging and serving it in combinations you would never have thought of. Like wasabi icecream, (poor example of what he can do, but the only thing i can think of at this time) I think he aims to open your mind and try food in different ways to what you are used to, hence the price tag and the waiting lists to get in there...

i dont live in sydney

but i've tried tetsuya, and it was amazing!

delicious food, nice ambience, great service =)

it cost us about AUD200 each

but it was couple of years back, so the price may change now

It is a fusion of French and Japanese which is quite unique.

The restaurant is stunning.

The chef is award-winning.

Food is great.

It is just under $300 a head including wine and a 10 course degustation menu.
