He was the star of their gold medal victory 4 years ago. I hope it's not because his pro team wouldn't let him off. Who are the best players on Argentina's Olympic team? Messi? Riquelme?

The Olympics is meant for U-23

He is 24 years old and Batista (current Argentina U-23 Coach) had no need to select him as one of the overage players because he already had Messi and Aguero as attacking options, two players who are U-23 and already play for the Argentine Senior Squad.

Tevez did not feature in any of preparatory games for this Olympic team either (unlike Riquelme and Masherano)...so it has nothing to do with Manchester United (his current club) not letting him go....

Tevez did play 2 days ago for Argentina in a friendly against Bulgaria....and he will feature for Argentina's upcoming WC Qualifiers in early September.

I think he is over 23, i don't think it's because manchester wouldn't let him play because anderson is playing for brazil.
