    By the election in 2016, Texas will be a battleground state like Florida is today though.

  14. That's a relatively new phenomenon. It used to be a democratic stronghold as recently as the 80's when Ann Richards was one of a long line of democratic governors.

    The Religious Right changed that with the neocon movement.
