  1. Because it's Time to Change and Save the Country...

    No more War...

    No more Bush Politics!

  2. There are actually two reasons: 1) We have the chance to vote either the first African-American as president or we have the chance to have the oldest-elected president (surpassing Reagan) and the first woman vice president. 2) We're in the midst of uncertainty at home and abroad. We have been on the precipice of a recession for the last two years, with everything pointing to one except for GNP growth was positive. We also have seen a morgage mess, housing crisis, credit crunch, oil prices through the roof, an unjust war that Bush has no intention of leaving, nor does McCain. Face it, we have a chance to make history and change the future.

  3. because we've had the worst president in history for 8 years now, and we have a ***** that will potentially be our president for the first time. i think you know that.

  4. If you listened to the speeches at RNC, you heard that even republicans recognize the American people are profoundly unhappy with the direction of this country. The reasons are numerous: The seven-year war on terror lacking clear direction, floundering economy, credit crunch, the fading of American empire, drop in real estate markets, even losing the gold medal race at the Olympics. Take your pick.

PS. Julie H is very fond of these bogus tax numbers. Here's the non-partisan take on Obama's tax plan: http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/wo...

  5. History will and has been made.  Each side is strongly divided, their is no gray areas.  Both side have become energized and vocal in support of their chosen candidates.  There are wars and rumors of wars going on throughout the world.  Congress has let folks down, so they are now looking to their presidential candidates to correct issues they feel need attention.

  6. ok here is the things that are the same; it is done by the electoral college, it dosent matter what they say because when they get in office they always break their campaign promises, things that are different whoever wins will be making history by either having a black person as president or having a female as VP

  7. More of McSame and Bush-league politics as usual that will Palin in comparison to anything we've seen before vs. Obama-Biden and at least a partial return to sanity, integrity, realism, and comptence without cronyism in government. God forbid, competence in government without cronyism.  Now there's a novel concept.  McCain doesn't know Shia from Shinola!

  8. Because Obama is going to raise all of our taxes for his socialist programs. We will all have a lower standard of living.

    CAPITAL GAINS TAX

    MCCAIN

0% on home sales up to $500,000

per home (couples) McCain does not

    propose any change in existing

    home sales income tax.

    OBAMA

28% on profit from ALL home sales

    How does this affect you?

If you sell your home and make a profit, you

will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.

If you are heading toward retirement

and would like to down-size your

home or move into a retirement

community, 28% of the money you

make from your home will go to taxes. This

    proposal will adversely affect the

elderly who are counting on the income

from their homes as part of their retirement income.

    DIVIDEND TAX

    MCCAIN 15% (no change)

    OBAMA 39.6%

    How will this affect you?

If you have any money invested in stock

    market, IRA, mutual funds,

    college funds, life insurance, retirement

    accounts, or anything that pays

or reinvests dividends, you will now

be paying nearly 40% of the money

earned on taxes if Obama become president.

    The experts predict that 'higher

tax rates on dividends and capital gains

would crash the stock market yet

do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

    INCOME TAX

    MCCAIN (no changes)

    Single making 30K - tax $4,500

    Single making 50K - tax $12,500

    Single making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 60K- tax $9,000

    Married making 75K - tax $18,750

    Married making 125K - tax $31,250

    OBAMA

    (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

    Single making 30K - tax $8,400

    Single making 50K - tax $14,000

    Single making 75K - tax $23,250

    Married making 60K - tax $16,800

    Married making 75K - tax $21,000

    Married making 125K - tax $38,750

    Under Obama your taxes will

    more than double!

How does this affect you? No explanation

    needed. This is pretty

    straight forward.

    INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

    OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

How does this affect you? Many families

    have lost businesses,

    farms and ranches, and homes

    that have

    been in their families

for generations because they could not

    afford the inheritance tax.

Those willing their assets to loved

ones will not only lose them to

    these taxes.

NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA

    * New government taxes proposed on

    homes that are more than

    2400 square feet

    * New gasoline taxes (as if

    gas weren't high enough already)

    * New taxes on natural resources

    consumption (heating

    gas, water, electricity)

    * New taxes on retirement accounts

    and last but not least....

    * New taxes to pay for socialized medicine

so we can receive the same

level of medical care as other

    third-world countries!!!

  9. The economic changes in energy, that will be affected(Obama thinks that we can just stop gasoline, when the other technologies are still infantile and inferior at the moment) the size of government that affects us all,and how it works in our everyday lives. The amount of new taxes levied against businesses (that will just move their headquarters,if not everything out of the country) the fact that the govt, right now taxes the oil companies more than their record profits this year and Obama wants to steal those profits and socialize the oil industry. The very fact that Obama is creating two classes, rich elite and poor(just like Venezuela),To make it short....freedom or tyranny in socialism, you take your pick, because it will take years if Obama get the presidency and puts us heading backwards,to recover.

  10. This is no ordinary election because we are breaking history on all fronts.

We have the oldest person ever running for president.

We have the first woman running as a Republican VP.

We have the first African American running for president.

We have a VP nominee that would be the first Roman Catholic VP if elected.

We are breaking ground and attacking many prejudices, whether they are ageism, sexism, racism, or religious bigotry.

  11. Because there is no such thing as an "ordinary" election.  This is a major landmark because we can choose between a female VP and a senior citizen or a Black president.  Neither has existed before in the history of this country.

It is also the first time in decades we have a socially liberal, fiscally conservative running at the top of the GOP ticket.

So it doesn't matter who gets elected, records will be shattered.
