Why is Thursday and Friday Traffic SO BAD in Los Angeles?

Do more people work on these days than any other?

I just don't get it.

I haven't noticed any difference.  Maybe people are waiting to get home so they drive worse and there are more accidents that block lanes.

Its everyday in L.A.,thats why I moved to Vegas,the average traffic jam(and i hear a lot of people here complain) is about 20 minutes.I drive a truck locally andits nothing like the 6 years I drove locally in LA

I don't know about LA, but in Houston everybody is in a rush to get out of town for the weekend.
