Why is Track and Field not a category?

Question

I know that local track isn't popular for sports fans in Canada, (usually just the athletes and their families coming to watch a meet! Even the Canadian Nationals!)

But nevertheless, we still have some highly dedicated and successful Canadian track athletes, so people are training, people are interested. Let's make it a category!!!

I think it would be easier if running and track and field each had their own categories. It seems most of the questions in running are related to track and field or cross country.

That is a really good question. It should be. Why is wrestling in the Sports category when everyone knows it is just staged entertainment and not really a sport.
