Why is USC so overrated?

How can USC possibly be overrated? They opened the season on the ROAD against a formidable opponent (Virginia) and BLEW THEM OUT 52-7. Does that not deserve a jump in the rankings?

Ohio State and Georgia played CUPCAKE Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly 1-AA) teams to open the season. If anything, both of those teams are a little overrated. We don't know how good Ohio State and Georgia are, but we know how good USC is, a great team.

Well this week it is because you are an upset Georgia fan. Thing is that USC went cross country and played a BCS school and Georgia stayed home to beat a Division 1AA school(and didn't do as good as USC).

Edit: GA and OSU played Football CHAMPIONSHIP Subdivision teams, not Football BOWL Subdivision(Div 1A)

They're actually not overrated, if anything Georgia was overrated at #1.  They are legit at #1. Not a fan of either team, but USC will destroy Ohio State.  Not even close.  By more than 2 touchdowns.

Right now this early in the season anybody could fall into this catagory.

I mean we do have some teams in the top 10 that could fall this week.

Florida could easily fall to a very hungry to regain respect Miami team that is a very heated rivalry along with West Virginia traveling to E.Carolina could be an upset. Although I see the Miami being the heavily favored to pull the upset far greater than E Carolina pulling the upset over West Virginia.

USC takes a break while waiting on Ohio State, while Ohio State gets in another warmup game hosting Ohio. I believe that extra game could favor Ohio State.

As USC being overrated, I disagree, I believe they are for real, so long

as their qb plays well. The PAC 10 has proven that its a solid conference this year, so the Trojans will be battle tested and if they survive the Pac 10 unbeaten even with a loss to Ohio State could easily be considered for the National Championship.

Because the Pac 10 has maybe 2 other consistently good teams, unlike a conference like the Big 10 or SEC.  USC also pays its players.

Wait for 10 days and after the whooopin USC puts on the ohio boys it will be obvious to everyone.  Don't kid yourself USC has a QB now, John "I can't play" Booby is gone and good riddance.

It has to do with their reputation.  A lot of schools get ranked based not on their current skills, but previous history (NOTRE DAME, for instance).  It's a sad fact of life, but it will never go away because it's too important to include the human vote in the polls.

because you are looking at them through your SEC eyes...take a step back, look at them through your un-biased eyes...you will realize they are not overrated
