Question:

Why is Universal not using DTS in its DVDs/HDDVDs?

They were the first studio to embrace the format used in theaters and on dvd...now most people use dolby digital instead.

  1. Saves room on the regular DVD's.  Not sure why they don't use it for the HD-DVD's.  I definatly pick up a dvd if it is in DTS, but I know it limits the amount of extras they put on.  Must people want the extras as opposed to the sound.  I could give a s--- about the extras because most of them suck.

    I know universal uses the dual combo dvd's so maybe that limits the space as well.  I haven't made the high def jump yet, so I haven't researched it all that well.
