Why is University of Miami football still ranked so low?

Because miami is still garbage... yall beat charlston southern and yall want a ranking?!?!?!?hahaha gimme a break...next week you will find out why miami doesnt belong in the rankings because the gators are gonna TORCH the canes and win by at least 30...Miami doesnt even belong on the same field as Florida, but dont take my word for it...just watch the game...then you will know..

well thats simple b/c miami hasnt earned it...u didnt even make a bowl game last year so u were probably ranked very low to start the season n beating up a cupcake team in ur opening game doesnt earn u ne respect...the reason teams that lost in the opening week are still ranked ahead of u is b/c there still a btr football team

what about the other 20+ teams that fit into the same category? the answer to this rhetorical question is that one loss doesn't make a team permanently suck. the reality is that although miami won, it was against measly Charleston Southern; hardly a challenge. almost like playing a community college team.

your question implies that Miami is better than Clemson. That is ridiculous. until they play each other, Miami has no legit claim to be better than Clemson, let alone in the top 25.

It has a lot to do with prestige and what they have done the last couple of years, I know that doesn't seem right but this early in the season the pollsters who do the ranking rely heavily on people coming back and recruits the teams got to determine there ranking for the first 2-3 weeks. Miami hasn't done much of anything the last 4 years and they are paying for it via the rankings. If they continue to win they will move up where they are supposed too but until then expect it to be the people that have been winning the last few years.

because the teams that lost and are still ahead of them are still better teams then them.  miami will be 1-1 this weak when they play florida. and then you will see why they are ranked where they are.

You have to be realistic here.  Miami was 5-7 last season and has not really had a good team in a few years or at least up to their old standard.  Their first game was a win vs a cupcake and really proves nothing at all to be honest.  Now if they can upset the heavily favored Gators, then we'll be talking about rankings again.

Why would you even ask this question?  UM has not been the Miami of the past.  They can't even defend their home field like they used to.  The 'big' game against Florida State isn't a big game nationally anymore; it's only big in the ACC.  No one is afraid to play Miami anymore.  Come on, you played Charleston Southern from the Big South Conference who's other members are VMI, Coastal Carolina, High Point, Liberty, Radford, UNC-Ashville, Winthrop, Gardner-Web, and Presbyterian!   Charleston Southern won 5 games last year and only one game in conference play.  http://csusports.athleticsite.com/picksc... Its all about the HATE.  If the darlings of USC, OSU*, Texas, or Notre Dame beats a team no matter if it is Charleston Technical College, as bad as the U beat them, then they get consideration.  OSU* has been going to BCS and National title games because of their easy assed schedule.

All the U needs to do is continue to win.  Even if the U beats Florida by 2 TDs at the Swamp, then Miami will be at #20 while Florida will drop to around 12 or 13.
