Why is it wear resistant?

How does it compare with Stainless steel?

  1. Vanadium Carbide(VC) in stainless steel goes into solution easily at high temparatures and contributes to grain refining which provides for the improved strength of the tool.

    The hardness of Vanadium Carbide(VC) which is almost 55 on the Rockwell C Scale makes it Wear resistant

    However it is very brittle in nature.
