I don't give a dam* about petrol. I catch trains, busies and taxis. Next month I'm gettin' a motor scooter You can fit a whole family on a scooter - I've seen it in Asia and it can be done here in the land of good weather. So I don't give a s*it about petrol prices.

But I am awfully upset that it costs nearly $5 to buy a very small jar of Vegemite. And I just ran out.

Kraft, an AMERICAN COMPANY, bought our national toast spread years ago and the price is outrageous. I just ran out and am very angry because I do not want to spend $5 on another jar. It is a cheap byproduct that only costs them cents to make.

Who is responsible for selling Aussie Vegemite to Kraft USA???? Name and shame. :)

  1. A $10 jar of Vegemite would last about 5 years on normal rates of consumption.  Amortised over that period it is pretty cheap.  Think of a jar of Vegemite as a long term investment, not a foodstuff.

  2. Vegemite has been owned by Kraft for close to 80 years now.

  3. You must have been in a coma for the last 80-odd years.  Kraft bought Vegemite in the 1920's.  And in case you haven't noticed, almost every product in the grocery store has doubled in price in the last year.
