Vitali hasn't fought in 39 months, has done jack to earn a shot at Sam Peter and yet he's getting one when it should be Wladimir and Peter going at it to settle who's the best in the heavyweight division!

Look at this c**p, http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=3284835

It's c**p like this that turns people off from the sport!!! Vitali should be ashamed of himself and i hope Peter knocks his head off!!!!

  1. Politic.

  2. Ugh, that's what they wanted in the first place. They always said it. So in other words, it's going to be Vitali going after Peter and Ruslan while Wlad will keep the two belts he already has and since they won't fight each other, we won't have a complete unified champion in the hw division. Honestly, the only fight that could really save the hw division right now would be Wlad vs Vitali, I know that won't happen, and probably if it does, it would turn into a disappointment, but if you think about it from an economic p.o.v. it's a marketing wet dream. For the first time in history, two brothers going at it for the hw title.

  3. I feel the exact same way, but thats the sanctioning bodies for you.  When Vitali retired, he was promised by the putrid WBC that he would get an automatic title shot if he ever returned and now that he's unretiring, he's getting his undeserved shot.  It makes no sense to me that he can just skip over all the other contenders who have fought eliminators and worked hard to get their shot, but this proves the sanctioning bodies are all in it for themselves and they'll do whatever they think will earn them the most money- thats why we have all these "interim" and "regular" and "super" champions in each weight division.  Everyone, including myself wants to see a rematch/unification between Wladimir and Sam Peter because that will give us the first TRUE, Ring Magazine heavyweight champ since Lennox Lewis retired.  If Vitali wins their upcoming fight, then we will be in the same boat that we are in now and there will be no true heavyweight champ because the brothers have repeatedly stated that they will not fight each other, so I too am kind of hoping that Peter wins so he can get his rematch with Wladimir.
