For one thing 20 years ago wrestling sucked in the terms of WWF/E. Hogan was about it and let's be honest, he had no wrestling skills at all. He was a body builder that could cut a promo as it is now. Now as for now, as mention above there is no originality in WWE/F. All of the story lines are just rehash and on top of that the booking is just awful. Who wants to see Triple H defend the WWE title against Khali, the build up for Batista and Cena was awful and is over shadowing CM Punk's title regin who also goes against a guy like Khali, Batista, and Cena that can't wrestle in JBL. The only matches with potential at being good is Taker/Edge and Hardy/MVP. This is at the second biggest WWE PPV of the year.

Because WWE fans still misses the Attitude Era and more kids watches it now.

RAW is now not as good as it was 6 or 7 years ago.

ECW is not as violent as it was.

SD! is on at Friday Nights so teenagers and adults can't watch it.

All of the WWE shows are Rated-PG.

The summer is always a real slow time for the industry, but pro wrestling - and WWE, in particular - is in a real down period in popularity. The TV ratings, PPV numbers and house show attendance has been on a downward spiral for several years and there really is no end in sight. A struggling economy, the rise of MMA and a lack of marketable mainstream stars (how many more movies have to bomb where Vince is trying to force a "Superstar" down the throats of pop culture) are a few of the reasons.

Because it stinks!Compared to wrestling twenty years ago it really stinks.Not only does it stink,it's totally ridiculous.Who wants to see some short dork in a leprechaun suit get into the ring?Plus there's too much talk and phony drama.WWE needs to shut up and just wrestle.

Because it's repetitive, same old stuff again and again. In this era, it's mostly younger fans since all the old fans have realized this and moved on. As for seeing alot of fans on their shows on TV, this is not true. They just shove all the fans on one side of the arena and the camera will only point at that side. In reality, the other side to the back of the camera is totally empty.

Because now it can't even compare with how good it was in the old days. It sucks now. Nothing is as good as it used to be and the storylines and boring and repetitive. People can't be bothered anymore, hence why they used the Million Dollar Mania to get more attention and a bigger rating.

last week raw had 3.6 (no olympics) this week it was 3.0 (note the oylimpics got 33.0) its all because of the olympics every major tv show is losing ratings at the moment

Because it is P.G. now. People want to see blood, violence, and insults that include "bad words" when the watch wrestling. The WWE doesn't provide that anymore because Vince discovered that getting kids to think that John Cena is God and buy all his merchandise is a gold mine.
