Why is Wendy's closing in florida?

Today April 4, 2008, I went to get my family dinner. Waited forever to get our food from our local Wendy's we've been going to since I was kid. (food usually never takes this long)

Once we get to the window the manager is letting everyone know this Wendy's will be closing tonight. I ask, "Is it forever"? He says, " by the end of the year you wont see but, TWO Wendy's in THE STATE OF FLORIDA.

So, I ask the Internet Community....WHAT IS GOING ON?

I have seen 3 Wendy's close down in my area too.  the economy is changing things for business that have to pay many employees, and provide benefits too.  More people are eating at home and less dining out because companies are cutting jobs. the $$ is getting tighter, and if the Wendy's by you has more expenses than income...it will close before the owner of that franchise loses too much $$.  I guess you'll have to find a different place for your burgers, or drive further for your beloved Wendys.  sorry 'bout that.  Wendy's is my favorite, and if all of them in my state closed... I'd be crushed!  Take care.
