Question:

Why is Yahoo doing this?

I have my homepage set to www.yahoo.com

Today, all of a sudden, when I open up my browser, Windows has a popup come up that says yahoo requires me to enter a username and password to access the site. I tried using my yahoo id and password....didn't work. Then I tried just hitting "Cancel" in the popup and when I did that, it took me to a blank purple-ish color page that says the following:

401 Unauthorized

Authorization required for the URL '/'.

This is happening on both my laptop and desktop computers. However the funny thing is, when I use the yahoo toolbar drop-down menu, it allows me to go to all the yahoo sub-sites (yahoo mail, yahoo answers, etc.).

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening to me? Thanks.
