  1. It's A-rod's fault. They haven't won a playoff series since he got there.

  2. Too many Alpha-males in the dugout. They don't like sharing the spotlight or headlines. Thus,no one is truly happy, making victory illusive.

  3. To quote former Yankee player and manager, Yogi Berra, "Good pitching beats good hitting and vice versa."  What Yogi probably meant was, if you are comparing two teams, the team with the better pitching will win out in the course of the long baseball season and usually in a short playoff series as well.  Yankees fans can point to the injuries to Wang and Chamberlain and say wait until next year.  For the rest of us, having Yankee fans use those very words is like music to our ears.

  4. Because they all think they're the best and their egos get the better of them.

  5. "Ballplayers, as a group, reach their peak value much earlier and decline much more rapidly than people believe." - Bill James

"Past results do not guarantee future returns." - ken jr

  6. Maybe because their losing their touch to the game they need younger stars

  7. they SUCK!!!!!!!

  8. either they dont have a consistent pitching ratation (pavano, ponson, mussina, pettitte and rasner) only one of the pitchers is good and the rest is a joke. its all the general managers fault this guy cashman used to not sign superstars in the late 90s and now does like giambi, a-rod and abreu. this guy thinks players that are worth alot are worth that much on the field but they dont just look at rays. what you mean the drive to win rings? there's only 3 players in the roster that was in the yankee dynasty from the 90s.

  9. What do you mean struggling? Didn't they jsut beat the Tigers? Aren't they playing over .500? Get Real. Most teams don't make the playoffs every year. Quit your whining.

  10. No pitching and they only care about there personal stats not the teams success.

  11. well you have too look at it like this, they may have some of the best players, but its not the individuals, its the team.

  12. They have no pitching

  13. Well, the 'true' Yankees (Jeter & Posada) are probably still hungry for a championship, but they're getting older and losing a step.  Their biggest star, A-rod will never win anything because he's a choker.  And the Yankees didn't go out and sign or trade for any starting pitching in the off-season.  I think the team is just getting old.

  14. They have an old lineup and a young pitching staff. The ace of their staff is injured which means they have to rely on unproven pitchers and guys who are past their prime. Their entire lineup is full of guys who haven't been the same type of player since they got to the Yankees (Giambi, Damon, Pudge, Abreu) and A-Rod has had an off year. Robinson Cano was supposed to be a competitor for the batting title this year but he's only batting like .280 or less. The blame has to go to Brian Cashman. You can't expect to win in this day by just trading for guys who used to be really good.
