  1. Because we need to eat

  2. because we need farmers so that we dont have to depend  on foreign farmers for food (which would be a threat to national security).

the US government  sometimes gives out our left over crops to other countries for political favors or things like that.

imagine that we depended on another country for crops, what would happen when they threatened to stop importing them? theyd demand something else for that crop which could hurt our country if it was the only place we could get it from.

  3. preserving farmland is protecting farms and farmers so that their land doesn't get bought out by corporations and other commercial venues.  We need to protect it to protect crops and the agriculture industry.

  4. is this like your homework??

    lol

because farmers make our food and stuff and we need it and stuff, and because it had acuualy land and not cities, and the animals and all that stuff

if i was awake i would tell you but im just too tired

  5. Farmland can also be preserved from pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers which will degrade it and leave it suitable only for growing crops using large amounts of the same chemicals.

Important to prevent flooding, conservation, biodiversity, food security in case of no chemical assistance being available, holding carbon in the soil and the happiness of farmers.
