  1. The logical structure of the radio frequencies are used inside a "cell". A cell is a logical octagon shaped space where radio frequencies are broadcast. Cells that are not direct neighbors use the same frequencies. Due to the high cost and limited amount of FCC frequency slots, this is a good thing.

    All of these cells together resemble a honeycomb.
