Why is a man's job so important and attractive for a woman?

they're so attracted to doctors and lawyers or the one's who own their own business.

why??

from a girl's standpoint

(and I'm not shallow, this is what I SEE)

1-good provider. able to supply needs and more

2-power. having a job that has a rank, a title, and a position of higher authority makes a woman feel like they are protected and secure.

however...there are the few of us that are still naive enough to think that all you need is love (I am one of the few)

but perhaps as I gain more life experience, my viewpoint may change

It's a inbred thing that dates back to the beginning of civilization.  Women want to know that the man will be a good provider for their offspring.

i hear also that the girls are so attracted to men of uniform (e.g. soldiers, cops, navy, pilots, ..etc)

well, it is interesting that i heared this from psychological study, that in social gatherings, when men introduce themselves, they are related to their jobs:

"I work in company xyz"

"I am a pilot" ..etc

but for women, they introduce themselves mostly with their family:

" I am married and I have 2 cute kids" ..etc

Of course the financial part is important to many women

but it also reveals so much about the personality of the person

how much he takes life seriously, where did he reach in life

it is part of the personality

i also sometimes find it attractive to know the girl education or career background. sometimes it reveals some aspects aobut the personality ..

Money can get u nearly anything in life, women find the men that have better jobs more attractive because they know they can use their money to buy what they want, and be able to have kids and be a happy family, i mean u can do that in every family weather they are rich or poor, but it tends to grow within the rich side of people. as for me richness doesnt matter, i just want someone that is properly educated and that has a good personality ....

... And remember money never buys happiness or love, most relationships happen because of money wise and not real love, they always fail and never bring happiness to the couple.

So its better to judge a person by their personality, not the kind of job they do.

Simple answer: To fill the role of a provider

Regardless of the gains that the feminists movement have made, many women still see the man in his traditional role of the provider. This remains psychologically an important factor in a long term relationship. That said an average woman would rather go out with a man of higher income than that of a lower income, as there is disposable income.
