Why is a plain not getting wet when it flies through clouds?

  1. Actually, it does. And, if the temperature is below freezing, it gets what is called "icing," where ice builds up on the wings. That is why we have anti-icing on aircrafts, so that they can melt it away, because otherwise it can make it very difficult for the plane to continue flying.


  2. It does get wet, but because of the airspeed it is being blow-dried.

    Planes will also ice up, and until they figured out how to deal with that it was a big problem and caused a lot of crashes.

    Getting wet will not stop a plane from flying but getting covered in ice will.
