Why is a pool table rectangular?

i was playing pool and wondered why it's not circular and whay physics lie behind it

A circular table would make bank and kick shots too unpredictable, and thus useless. A rectangular table actually makes the game more interesting. There's a lot of geometry to playing pool well, and a 2x1 rectangle makes for a lot of different outcomes you would not find on a square table. It's also a nice convenient shape to build, unlike a hexagon or something.

It's based on the old billiards table which was rectangular.

Billiards spawned snooker which itself spawned pool.

The billiards table was rectangular because it was originally played on an actual table.

moreover with rectangular tables allow to have more holes and give reasonable amount of place to manuever

They're not all rectangular. I've seen hexagonal ones and the best ever was in the County pub in Liverpool. It was L shaped. Made for some amazing safety shots.
