  1. Well, it is a free standing object and it overlooks the ground and if you've ever been to a game you basically stand for the whole game, no sitting down at all. Especially when there are drunk Kiwis around throwing beer into the air, it's the best:)

  2. Year's ago must of the pavilions had no seat's and people had to stand, and that's were the name comes from. Now a days almost every pavilion has seats but people stil call it stands.

  3. well when the game is interesting we stand n if its a dry game u are sitting.. i guess thats why its called a stand !!

  4. At the sporting venue people stand on terraces & sit in the stands - a bit live driving on the parkway and parking on the driveway. It's not supposed to make sense.
