  1. Because it is generally cooler where you are.As the Earth warms up due to natural causes and some from man the weather changes(as everthing in the universe is in a constant state of change) and more energy is imparted into the weather it can become more extreme.

    it's called a heatwave in any country it's just we don't have that many.

  14. basically because it never gets very hot in the uk and when it does almost everyone moans about it. Thus the weather man or the newspapers warn the public by letting them know there's going to be a heatwave................................... between all the RAIN!!!!!

  17. It's called a heat wave in the United States too.  It just refers to a short stretch of extremely hot weather.
